For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning

My thoughts

As much as I pretty enjoy Unearthly Hallowed was a disappointment for me for various reasons.

From the first pages I got the feeling that there is so much going on with Clara’s brother Jeffrey that I didn’t left at all while reading and it turned to be right in the end since He just left. I can’t stop having bad feelings about him which I hope it won’t be true in the next book.

Hallowed was slower than Unearthly…And I mean literally much slower because half of the book nothing as coming in action parts happened. But we got other things and secrets to reveal which they are/were important for our story line. More information’s about half angels Blank Wings and having Clara’s Dad appeared were just amazing in secret’s term.

The first part of the ending was so much emotional and I couldn’t stop thinking what if I was in Clara’s shoes how I would act/felt/react. Losing a beloved character in books or even in real life is always hard.

The second part well… I didn’t not like it I have to admit it left me with a bitter taste in mouth and kind of disappointed but at the same time hopeless for something better maybe something happier?

I can understand that the book and Clara character and life is about choices. Choices and decisions you take of life. Between destiny and not destiny. Between the choices/options of the heart and the choices/facts of ‘’we meant to be together, that’s destiny ‘’. Because ofcource Tucker is the heart and Christian is the destiny the one he meant to be.

Another thing I didn’t like is how some things portrait in the book specially how things ends if you are trying to fight your Destiny and if you turn the road of the Team Will (I am still thinking about the specific conversation between Clara and her mother near the end of the book)

Anyway I am going to ignore that bitter the book left me and I will definitely wait for the 3rd book now there are so many things I am waiting to found out for example more About Black Wings? What about Angela’s Dad? Are we going to meet him somehow? What will happen to Jeffrey?

And please more Tucker… Seems impossible but please!

My thoughts

I was not dissapointed.I know a lot of people compare them with Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R Ward and i  have to admit that there was indeed some similarities but not a carbon copy or whatever. To my eyes the book was a mix of it and Anna Rise novels. The paranormal word that Lara Adrian  created was just fantastic. And i can understand why some people had problems with the casual indifference about humans being killed by the Rogues but i didnt really mind.

The book itself was very interesting and it had everything i wanted too : Storyline, action, writing, word building, characters. The idea of how the warriors came from was very original too me.

What i really loved about the book was the character of Lucan.I believe if you have ever heard a tv show called Angel including the character this is how Lucan was aka Angel. And i know you will probably say ”Oh my gosh another Emo Vampire”  But i loved Angel and Lucan was adorable as a character too..

Masquerade (Heven and Hell #1) by Cambria Hebert

by  Cambria Hebert

Before. Everything was so much better Before. I wasn’t haunted by nightmares, my place at school was secure and my face was flawless. Now, I’m a freak and everything has changed. The worst part is that I can’t remember the night I was sentenced to the shadows. The memory has been stolen from me and I just can’t shake the feeling that someone, something is out there -watching.
Just when I think I have my life handled, Sam, with his intimidating golden stare and shiver inducing voice, makes me realize that I don’t know anything. He makes me see that my scars don’t matter. That they never mattered. I can’t help but fall for him, completely unknowing that he knows exactly how I got this way. Not knowing he was involved.
Heven has no idea how closely death stalks her. She has no idea what I have done to keep her alive. I fear the day she learns my secrets, finds out what I really am. But even then I cannot stop, I vow to make things right. Finally her hunter will be hunted, Heaven and Hell, faith and sin will battle, and we will be victorious. But first, Heven must learn to be what she never imagined.  I know her strength is there – I feel it. If we are to overcome all odds, she must push past her flaws – her frailties – to become much more..

My thoughts

Masuerade is the first book in Heven and Hell series by Cambria Hebert. But before reading this first book of the series you need to read the pre sequel called Before in order to understand how major the transformation of Heven from a popular teen girl used to be to a freak (that’s what she thinks anyway) and non popular among the people in her high school.

This is one of the few times that the pre sequels actually setup everything in the story.

About Masuerade now I like the book and I was looking forward to read it after I finished the pre sequel called Before even that there were some parts I found it sow but overall I like it.

It is about a girl called Heven that she has been attacked, she has no memories of it at all, which left her with huge scars on her face and she is trying every single day to hide them behind some large hoodies and with her hair. She has lost every shelf worth she used to have and then.. Then she met Sam and falls in love with him.

The beginning and generally the first pages it is was kinda slow. It is actually for a girl who goes to school met I guy and fall in love. But I loved how Heven came in terms with her situation of her scars and her shelf.

The only flaw of the story is Sam. Sam was a mystery to me at most of the book (even that we get to know what he really is) Most of the times I found him to be extremely sad and all and sometimes I felt he was kinda off to me ..

The writing style is pretty nice plus the originality of the story. Even that I didn’t gave me the WoW feeling I will continue reading the series.

Elemental (Elementals #0.5) by Brigid Kemmerer

Elemental (Elementals #0.5)

Kindle Edition, 1st Edition, 50 pages

Rating : ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they are more than you dream.
As an air Elemental, 17-year-old Emily Morgan doesn’t have much power. That’s okay—she knows what happens to kids who do.
Like Michael Merrick. He’s an earth Elemental, one with enough power to level cities. Which makes him sexy. Dangerous. And completely off limits. At least according to Emily’s family.
But her summer job puts her in close contact with Michael, and neither of them can help the attraction they feel. When forces of nature like theirs collide, one misstep could get someone killed. Because Emily’s family doesn’t just want her to stay away from him.
They want him dead..

My review :

I have to point that I discover Brigid Kemmerer from Goodreads  and no there was not any real promotion from the author either editor either other sources.I just happened to read the summary by my own and like it a lot. I have already order of cource the first book in Elemental series called Storm and it supposed to be read back to back with it but I just couldn’t hold no to grab from Kindle and read it

I have to say that if you knew me from my previous review you know already that  I am not a big fan of pre sequels most of the time my reading left me disappointed. But not this time!

Elemental is set up 5 years before the original dates of Storm and tells the story of Michael Merrick and  Emily Morgan. Michael is a young man who has a lot of responsibility of his family plus He’s an Earth Elemental which this means who can harness astounding power, a Pure and he is Dangerous for Emily family (which oh gosh I was biased a lot about them) They met once day by accident when Michael attend Emily store and this is where our story begins.

This was a short novella, only 50 pages or so,but it really got my attention about the Paranormal Word Brigid Kemmerer created it left me hanging with so many questions for our story like why there is so much hate between the family specially from Emily parts and why there is so much fear from Michael family part.

For a very short novella the romance between Michael and Emily was incredible sweet and made my heart ache specially for the fact that the book ended with a cliffhanger and it definitely  got my attention even more now how the original series would be.

For a debut novel this was an excellent start and right now I can not wait for my own copy Storm to arrive now.

In the beginning, there’s a boy standing in the trees . . . .Clara Gardner has recently learned that she’s part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn’t easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there’s another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara’s less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she’d have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Okay what I can really say about this book that totally surprised me ?First let me just say I have a love crush with Angels and I can’t deny I read almost every book with Angels. So I knew I was going to read Unearthly I just didn’t knew when exactly. And I did I really regret in a way I haven’t done it earlier. We are talking about a big surprise here and  has a spot in my Favourite books with Angels

Despite some stereotypical introduction and some hints there in various places I have to say that for a Young Adult Paranormal book it had the whole package I wanted : interesting and likeable characters, storyline, action romance all in one book including Cynthia Hand writing which I personally found it was fantastic because it was smooth and easy and I was not able to put it down even that a big part of the story is teenage life with high school and all.

For the end I have to point out that beside the storyline and the action my favourite part in the book is  the romance. Its not that I didn’t expected a love triangle but the way it was develop and the suprising direction it took left with my jaw open and how things turned out to be

Over all a fantastic read and I cant wait to read the 2nd one in the series

p.s I am Team Tucker all the way I mean this guy is adorable right?
